4 Tricks To Improve Your Grammar
#1 Don’t mix singular with plural. If the subject is singular, the verb must also be singular. If the subject is plural, then the verb must also be plural.
Correct: My friend has three cats.
Incorrect: My friend have three cats.
#2 Use the right punctuation. No matter how many exclamation marks or question marks you use at the end of a sentence, they won’t be more affective than a single mark. Also too many commas are confusing and not using commas makes it difficult to understand a sentence that has multiple phrases.
#3 Always spell check. Be sure to spell words correctly and use the right word.
Correct: It looked like there wasn’t anything they could do.
Incorrect: It looked like their wasn’t anything they could do.
#4 Knowing the rules for comma usage can save you from a major grammar mistake or from confusing your reader.
Correct: Let’s eat, mom.
Incorrect: Let’s eat mom.
